On some Windows Operator Consoles the operator can easily see if an extension has been diverted to voicemail, and also turn on or off any one of the thousand user voicemail messages, such as 'gone to lunch', 'in a meeting' etc.
By using the virtually unlimited number of speed dials in the phone book, the operator is able to search by first or last name, or extension number, this is particularly useful when employing temporary operators.
